NASA uses it as the thermal insulation material for aerospace vehicles. Ceramic fibers such as alo, fiber, polycrystalline mullite fiber and ZrO fiber can be produced by sol-gel method. In recent years, a kind of al203-y203 fiber has been successfully developed by sol-gel method, In this kind of fiber, the content of alo is generally 14.7%~54.3%, and the content of Yo is generally 45.7%~85.4%. This kind of al203-y203 fiber has the advantages of high temperature resistance, high temperature strength and high temperature creep resistance. In addition to being used as high temperature insulation material, it can also be used as reinforcement of high temperature filter material and high temperature structural material.
